Headboards made to your size and design
A standard headboard rarely fits an unusual bed width or a specific gap on the wall, which is why we make every headboard to order rather than from a fixed range of sizes. You choose the height, shape and fabric, and we build the frame and padding to match your bed exactly, whether that is a standard double or an oversized super king. Headboards can be finished in the same fabric as your curtains or cushions for a coordinated bedroom, or in a contrasting fabric if you want the headboard to stand out as its own feature.
Fabric and padding choices for headboards
A headboard gets leaned against most nights, so the padding underneath the fabric matters as much as the fabric itself. We use a firm but comfortable foam padding as standard, and can adjust the depth if you prefer a softer or firmer feel against your back. Our fabric range covers everything from plain weaves to patterned designs from established houses such as Romeo and Swaffer, so the headboard can match an existing bedroom scheme or introduce a new colour into the room. Removable covers are also available if you want to change the fabric again in future.

Bespoke furniture has been made at our Lewes workshop since 1962, and headboards form a regular and recurring part of that bedroom work alongside curtains and cushions. We hold membership with the Federation of Small Businesses, on top of trade recognition through the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers. Quotations are free and carry no obligation, and measurements can be taken at our workshop or during a home visit, whichever turns out to be easier than measuring the bed yourself.
